Kristen L. Ross, 40-year-old former teacher at Riverside Elementary School in Cleveland, Ohio, has sentenced to two years in prison after she plead guilty to felonious assault of a teenage male student.
Ross was arrested in June 2010 and charged with sexual battery and unlawful sexual conduct. According to a police report filed on her arrest, Ross and the student engaged in sex on two occasions between January 15 and January 31, 2010. Ross, a married mother of two children, remained steadfast in denying any sexual relationship with the boy, even she finally decided to accepted a plea deal for felonious assault .
And the evidence — 3,800 text messages, phone call records, and a picture of Ross’ breasts.
According to presecutors, at one point Ross sent a nude picture of herself to the boy and then had sex with him in a classroom. When the relationship became the subject of playground gossip, someone sent Ross an extortion letter threatening to expose her if she didn’t pay up. Ross then responded with her own letter, seeking a meeting with the would-be blackmailer to keep school administrators from learning about the affair.
Police were tipped off to the crime after being contacted by the student’s father. He told investigating officers that he was made aware of the crime after his son told workers with Children and Family Services at Riverside School.
