Donna Jean Hoyt, 27-year-old woman from Johnstown, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to one to two years in prison for a sexual relationship she had with a 14-year-old boy who fathered her child.
Hoyt, mother-of-three, pleaded guilty last March to statutory sexual assault. Hoyt was living with her husband and children when she met the young boy. Her husband later suspected the affair and left her. The boy then moved into the apartment Hoyt was sharing with another family member. He and Hoyt then conceived a child who is now 2 years old.
The relationship continued for six months. Police began an investigation week after they were contacted by Cambria County Children and Youth Services.
Hoyt also was charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assault and corruption of minors.
A prison sentence is appropriate for Hoyt, who has no prior criminal record, because she “took advantage of an impressionable young boy,” the judge said.
