45-year-old mother gets prison for sex abuse of daughter's friend
Anna Ackerman, 45-year-old woman from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, to 4 to 10 years in state prison for performing sex acts on the 15-year-old boy during a party she hosted at her home in Mount Joy three years ago.
Ackerman pleaded no contest Wednesday to charges that she sexually assaulted a "severely intoxicated" boy at her home. She already had pleaded guilty once last year, but changed her mind and withdrew the pleading. She was scheduled for trial last week but she arranged a last-minute plea deal.
The victim and his parents watched as Ackerman was handcuffed and taken to prison. They were in agreement with the plea deal, according to testimony.
Ackerman wept and spoke softly while answering questions during the hearing. She declined to provide an explanation for her actions when asked by Lancaster County President Judge Joseph Madenspacher. She pleaded no contest to two felony sex crimes and a misdemeanor. (A defendant who pleads no contest denies guilt but admits the facts on which the charges were based).
Ackerman hosted a party for her teenage daughter and the daughter's friends, male and female, at her home on South Barbara Street. Teens between the ages 15 and 18 were drinking at the party. The victim, who was 15-year-old at the time, became "severely intoxicated" and, at some point, was taken to a a shower. When he got out of the shower, Ackerman dried him off and helped him into her bed. After getting boy to bed Mrs. Ackerman performed oral sex on him and had sex with him three times during the night. Some of the other teens saw sex acts performed by the older woman on the younger male, and one recorded some of the crimes with a cellphone camera, according to investigators.
