Tiffany A Conwell, 39-year-old wife and mother from Tennessee Ridge, Tennessee, has been sentenced to four years, but jail time was suspended to probation, which will be part of a judicial diversion agreement.
Cowell, who was arrested in March and was charged with aggravated statutory rape in the indictment, pleaded guilty to engaging in a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old boy, and for electronically sending him indecent photographs depicting sexual conduct.
The victim and his father came to the Sheriff’s Office on Feb. 6 and reported the inappropriate conduct. Conwell was a family friend and the relationship with the boy did not become serious until November and continued until February. According to the indictment, the charge stemmed from a Jan. 16 incident.
Among the conditions of her probation are that she be added to the state’s sex offender registry, and she is to have no contact with the victim. She also must complete a psychosexual assessment and follow all treatment recommendations. Additionally, she must also pay for counseling the victim received and court costs.
In May, a Houston County grand jury indicted Tiffany Conwell on a second aggravated statutory rape charge and nine counts of exhibition of inappropriate materials to minors. The rape charges were elevated to aggravated statutory rape because there was more than 10 years difference between the age of the victim and Conwell.
